Year of Dragon Retreat-2012

Qigong & Daoist Retreat

May 18 -20, 2012

Welcome to the annual qigong and Daoist practice retreat of the Qigong & Daoist Training Center. The retreat will be held at the CYO Retreat Center in Occidental, CA, which is located in a redwood forest, 1.5 hours north of San Francisco.

As in previous years, this is an opportunity to practice more intensely, go deeper in your experience of inner stillness and healing through qigong and Daoist meditation.  Our main meditation practices are those of the zuowang (sitting in forgetfulness or oblivion) combined with the Buddhist/Daoist gong’an (koan) method of asking “What is Not Two?”   It will follow an intensive schedule of sittings, qigong workouts, mindful walking among the redwood trees, Daoist scripture recitations, and Daoist blessing services by members of the American Dragon Gate Lineage.  Saturday afternoon we will have our usual Daoist Puerh Tea Drinking and meditation in silence.

Silence will be observed during all practice periods and meals, with the exception of dinner when silence will be optional.

Costs and details for the May retreat:  Friday 3pm to Sunday 3pm ($210). Participants will need to bring their own sleeping bags/blankets, sheets, pillows, towels, and toiletries.  Some linen sets are available for rent at $15 for the retreat. Flashlights are recommended to bring.
