Classes
Experience the self-healing art of medical qigong – a 5,000 year old Chinese healing system for health, physical fitness, and prevention of disease. Traditional Chinese Medicine theory states that our most basic components, called The Three Treasures, consist of Jing, or essence; Qi or energy; and Shen or spirit. Qigong and Daoist meditation are ways to cultivate these Three Treasures for a long healthy life, including mind, body, and spiritual awakening.

About the Classes
The classes include a core group of qigong exercises which function to purify, discover, gather, circulate, store, and transform the Qi. All the organ and meridian systems are benefitted for their healing potentials. Another way the exercises are practiced are according to the seasons of the year and the corresponding Five Elements or Phases. We also practice external qi healing or the transmission of Qi through the mind’s intention of aligning with Nature or Universal Qi. We follow the qi healing method of Michael’s main Chinese teacher, Master Wan Sujian from Beijing.
Recently, Michael started teaching Bagua Qigong Circle Walking as part of his regular qigong classes. His method includes an ancient gong’an version originated by the Longmen Quanzhen Daoist monks.
The Daoist meditation, or Zuowang meditation is a core Daoist practice consisting of The View that we are already a part of a complete whole – the Dao, and that our Original Nature is realized simply through the resting in non-dual awareness that there are not two things in the entire universe. The Zuowang method is sitting and forgetting, and dissolving of the ego, or small self. We also practice a koan-like method of asking “Not Two” as a way to arrive at a non-conceptual experience of Complete Perfection, or Dao.

Contact Michael for updates about local retreats which normally occur in the Spring and Fall. Both of these retreats are usually 2-3 day residential retreats emphasizing intensive meditation practice and qigong. Space is limited, registration early is required. (see Retreats link above)
