Retreats – 2010

Year of the Tiger

Qigong & Daoist Retreat

May 7-9, 2010

This Qigong & Daoist Retreat will be held at the CYO Retreat Center in Occidental, CA.  The theme for this Year of the Tiger Retreat is “Hermits In Community.”  The structure of the retreat will allow the participants to spend a significant part of their time as if they were on a personal, solitary retreat. Participants can practice Daoist meditation and/or gong’an (koan) meditation, practice qigong or yoga, read, take solitary walks through the redwoods, jog the trails, or swim in the heated pool, or just do nothing.   The participants will periodically come together as a group for short sessions of Daoist meditation, qigong, Daoist scripture recitation, or inspirational readings.  Guidance for these periods of solitary practice will be available by the retreat leader, Michael Rinaldini.  Silence will be observed during most practice periods, but silence will be optional during meals, or while relaxing in the swimming pool.

Costs and details for the May 7-9 retreat:  Friday 3pm to Sunday 3pm ($190). Participants will need to bring their own sleeping bags/blankets, sheets, pillows, towels, and toiletries.  Some linen sets are available for rent at $15 for the retreat. Flashlights are recommended to bring.

Deposit of $50 is required to hold your reservation, and full payment is due by April 1, 2010.
